OUTLINE ITINERARY - 23RD - 28TH DECEMBER

Christmas in the Capital celebrates Dublin as one of Europe's finest cities during the Festival season. Dublin has it all from shopping, to sightseeing, dining and partying. Your hotel, The Davenport is a magnificent 4 star property in Merrion Square at the heart of the city. We have incorporated some visits to Dublins top attractions so that you experience all the best that Irelands vibrant capital has to offer. 23rd December - Arrival On arrival into Dublin airport, you will be taken to your hotel by private transfer. At the heart of Georgian Dublin is the 4* Davenport Hotel, a wonderful property with an intimate and

pleasant atmosphere. It is located within walking distance to some of Dublin's greatest landmarks including the National Art Gallery, Trinity College and Merrion Square. You can spend the first day exploring the shops of Dublin and perhaps doing some last minute shopping on Grafton Street and Henry Street, Dublin's two pedestrian shopping streets. Spend the evening listening to the carol singers and buskers, and enjoy the wonderful Christmas windows in Roches Stores and Clerys. You are free this evening to dine in one of the capitals eclectic range of traditional, contemporary and exotic restaurants.

24th December - Christmas Eve

When you wake enjoy breakfast at the hotel and savour the atmosphere of relaxing in the city. You are free to take a morning stroll around Georgian Dublin, through Merrion and Fitzwilliam Square. You will be following in the footsteps of our literary giants Joyce, Wilde, Shaw and Swift. In the afternoon there is a Reception with Mulled Wine & Mince Pies with Carol Singers performing traditional Christmas Carols at the hotel. In the evening there is a four-course table d'hôte dinner at your hotel.

25th December - Christmas Day

Christmas morning will begin with a wonderful Champagne breakfast in the dining room. This will be followed by a visit from Santa with gifts for all the family. You are free to relax for the afternoon and enjoy movies and board games. In the evening there is a Gala buffet Christmas Dinner and dancing. You can then retire to bed having enjoyed a memorable Christmas day.

26th December - Stephen's Day

Wake up to a Full Irish breakfast in the hotel's dining room before going to the races in Leopardstown where you will enjoy the spectacle from an enclosed stand. This racecourse at Christmas is noted for being one of the best National Hunt meetings around so it is sure to be a day of excitement and thrills. You will have full coach transfer to and from the racecourse as well as admission to the races included. In the evening return to the hotel to celebrate your winnings over a table d'hôte dinner.

27th December - Dublin City Tour

Today you will visit two of Dublin's main attractions Trinity College and the Guinness Brewery. Trinity College Dublin is the oldest University in Ireland, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Situated in the heart of Dublin, Trinity is famous for literary graduates such as Swift, Goldsmith, Wilde and Beckett. A visit to Trinity with its majestic 18th century buildings and squares is like

stepping back into another age, and an opportunity to see the famous Book of Kells. You will also visit The Guinness Storehouse, located in the heart of the Guinness brewery in Dublin. It is a dramatic story that begins over 250 years ago and ends in 'Gravity', the sky bar, with a complimentary pint of Guinness, and an astonishing view of Dublin.

28th December Depart from Dublin

A private transfer will pick you up at your hotel to take you back to Dublin Airport in time for your flight. We hope that you have experienced a wonderful Christmas in Ireland and we wish you a safe and pleasant flight back to your homeland.
